Buy Nook UK – Nook E-Reader Available Now

Here’s something I never thought I’d say. If you live in the UK, don’t buy Nook. When I was in America at the end of last year, I bought the Nook and it was the best e-reader I ever owned. That’s why I set up this site, I wanted to share my passion for this amazing new e-reader. I expected Barnes & Noble to have released Nook UK by now. But they haven’t.

UPDATE! July 30 2010

Amazon have released their newest Kindle, the Graphite 3G. Up until now, I’d pretty much ignored Kindle, but the latest model is probably worth your attention. It competes with Nook and some levels, but completely owns Nook on other levels. Although I’m still hoping Nook UK happens soon.

It works globally – no problems buying in America and using in the UK or vice versa. Nook UK limitations don’t compete.

Free 3G – So basically it has its own Internet connection, enabling you to download your latest ebook in seconds, regardless of where you are.

Wifi – So if you’re near a hot spot, you can use their Internet connection too.

The Kindle comes out August 27, but Amazon are taking pre-orders now. It’s currently on at $189 with free shipping and delivery. Definately worth a look if your tired of waiting to buy Nook.

I for one got pretty tired of waiting for the release over here, even though I had my Nook I couldn’t get any more books for it.

So I started looking around for an alternative. What I didn’t expect to find was a product that not only does everything Nook does, I think it does it better.

You’ve probably found my site by searching for ‘Nook UK’. If you’ve googled that, I’m afraid you’re going to be dissapointed, as Barnes & Noble are still unsure about a UK release for Nook. If you’ve googled Nook UK, you clearly know about technology.

So I’m not going to tell you why you should check out the Sony PRS 505 E-Reader, because this is still a Nook UK fan site. All I’m going to say is check it out for yourself. This is someone who loved Nook so much that he set up two fan sites, now saying check out the competition. I can’t be any fairer than that.

People who buy Nook UK wide are commenting that there are some really good international deals to be had, even on other e-readers. Nook is proving to be a favourite amongst those who are passionate about gadgets.

Value for money and user experience are the two reasons by why people that have chosen to buy Nook are reporting their satisfaction.

Operating System – Google’s Android platform is incredible. Nook supports most Android Apps, so you can sideload a tonne of your docs and maps.

Sharing – I think it’s super cool that you can loan out your books to friends. This is one reason to buy Nook that no other e-reader can claim.

Reading– No glare, no shine, no backlight.

Downloading – It makes all the difference to now have to wait for that book to download. It genuinely takes seconds. I’m glad I decided to buy Nook UK customers take note!

Appearance – Slick and sexy – this is one gadget I’m happy to be seen with.

So if you value my opinion in any way, and it has to be said, quite a lot of people do, you’ll certainly consider Nook as an option. I’m not “saying buy Nook UK people!” I want you to make your own decision about whether or not to buy Nook, but I hope that this information is at least helpful.

If they’re looking to buy Nook UK customers should be aware that the current exchange rate is favourable to them. The Nook is an excellent gadget and certainly worth the initital outlay.

Nook is a wireless e-reader from Barnes and Noble, America’s largest book retailer. To buy Nook UK customers are currently having to import as it is not yet on sale in the UK. But this does have certain advantages given the favourable exchange rates we’re currently experiencing.
